Helpful tips to cleaning for shabbas!

Oh don't you just love Fridays?! That feeling that shabbas is coming and the weekend is here. That sense of relaxation we earn for all week, that book we haven't picked up since last week we just can't wait to finish. There's something special about that feeling, but it takes a lot to get there! Shopping, cooking and cleaning there always so much to do.
I know your all busy doing all that, so hears helpful tips on cleaning, for you or your cleaning lady to use.
My number one cleaning supply I love is my Mr. clean magic eraser. I use it for everything, my white leather kitchen chairs that show every little dirt, it takes it right off. I use it for my oven and even my doors and moldings, it gets ride of those black lines. ... Not impressed yet? Try using it in your bathtub/shower and bathroom tile. It helps you skip the bleach, soak and rub routine, and all you have to do is rub, it makes life so much simpler!

Another thing I always must have to clean, is a dryer sheet... No not for my launder, did you know it take off those wet stains on your faucet? Try it ull see!
To dust my furniture (especially my wood furniture) I use swiffer sweepers cloths, (the ones that are meant for the mops) It catches all the dust and keeps it there. I'm sure you can you a regular paper towel and it will still work, but I like these cloth, no scratches are ever left behind.

If your wood has a finished touch (like a shine) NEVER use any kind of spray unless it says it's meant for wood (I made that mistake once) also never ever leave any liquids or soups directly down on the wood the soup can leave a mark, it takes off the finish! Do you ever do your own wig or fix it up and curl it and then use hair spray? Yes your hair spray can be ruining your bedroom set! Moral of it all don't use anything to be safe on your wood furniture!!
Consequences, it happened for leaving a pluggable air reshener on the dresser, it leaked all over!

Have a Good Shabbas and relax!!

Awful strech marks!!

Some women swear how coco butter and so many other products on the market really work for stretch marks. But that doesn't have so much truth to it. The reality is they may only help for the itchiness of stretching, so apply away because that itchiness can be a real bother!
Ask you mother, sisters and other female relatives if they have stretch marks, chances are if they do, you will too. Stretch marks are genetic, so you may just be doomed if you find out everyone has! But there is other reasons you can get stretch marks, so you may be in luck, your family members might have it, because of other reasons.
For example, if they carried multiples, chances are there marks came from that more, then your genes. So if your Octomom or expecting multiples, there's a much high chance of getting them. Friendly reminder expecting multiples are genetic as well.
Another way you can get them is by gaining too much weight too fast, gradually gain your weight, is the way to go.
There are some helpful tips you can try. But not to prevent them, but to try and minimize the severity of them. A health diet is not only good for your physical health, it's good for your skin as well, Healthier skin = less marks.
Eat foods rich in antioxidants, which help nourish and protect skin, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables (blueberries, strawberries) also food that contain vitamin E, which protects skin cell membranes (nuts, seeds, avocados) Foods containing vitamin A, which repairs skin tissues. (carrots, sweet potato)  also foods contain omega 3s, which keep cell membranes healthy and make your skin glow. (fish, eggs)
Keep hydrated, how ever you can by fruit, water, or tea (without caffeine) Water helps detoxify your body and keeps your skin cells plump which is healthier and better for when it bounces back after stretching.
Exercise during pregnancy, helps your skin not be so stretchy and it improves your body's circulation. It also can help by preventing you from gaining too much weight.
So keep you, your baby and your skin health during pregnancy, they all go along way.

Where it all began

It was a saturday night and I had just got home from a shabbas spent at my mothers, with another sister and her 4 kids. Two of her kids had just been recovering from a bad stomach virus, that was contagious. I was up all night, most of it sitting on the bathroom floor next to the toilet. I didn't think I was pregnant, I just thought it was quite obvious that I had caught the virus. I waited for it to pass all Sunday and then all Monday but it wasn't getting any better, and the virus that was going around was just a 24 hours virus, not a few days. It was not until I was on the phone with a sister of mine, saying how I was still sick, when she joked "Maybe your pregnant." To her feeling sick meant being pregnant, because she is pregnant, and was going through morning sickness at that time. We joked about it for a little and then I started to question myself and my 'virus'. When I hung up the phone I couldn't get the thought out of my head, but still very questionable about the whole thing.
I'm ganna get personal and explain, and I hope this won't offend anyone. Again my blog is to make people more aware of anything on this topic.
Many of you have probably heard that once your on birth control, and go off, your body can take some time to ovulate and may need time adjusting. It's like a heads up if you don't get pregnant right away it's normal, even if its a couple of months. But no one tells you that not always is there a few month wait, it maybe even be a few weeks. So next time you may not want to take the 'waiting till my body adjust' into your time frame.
I was on birth control for a little over a year, and my husband and I made the decision we should go off. But we had in our minds that it will probably be in a few months from now...but it wasn't. About two and half weeks later is when I experienced my so called 'virus'. I didn't think was possible to even start feeling things so early on in pregnancy, and I certainly didn't think I was pregnant so fast. Still hesitant or maybe in denial, I still thought it was just a virus, after all I wasn't even due yet for my period and I haven't missed one so I thought I would always have at least till then. But my virus wasn't getting any better, so I decided to take a test, waiting for the result was one of those most scary, anxious, exciting, nervous and emotional few minutes of my life... basically the most bipolar moment ever! I took a digitally test and I was just expecting/waiting for it to say 'not pregnant' (clearly I was still in denial) I never would I have imagined to see the words pregnant, but when those 8 letters P.R.E.G.N.A.N.T became visible, I was SO in shock, I bursted out into tears (happy tears of course) and just hugged my husband and was laughing and crying, jumping and hugging  saying "were pregnant" "were pregnant" "were pregnant" obviously another bipolar moment, but now we can just call it HORMONES.
My virus turned into a 4 month virus called 'morning sickness'! And this is where it all began, the emotion roller coaster, the sleepless nights or the sleep all day days, the nausea and vomiting, the no appetite and an amazing sense of smell. You cry for absolutely no reason and can laugh at things that just aren't funny, you cry because your crying and get mad that your just crying, for reasons you don't understand. Your in the mood a specifics food, so your husband goes and gets you it, but by the time he comes back, you no longer can look or think about eating it. And all we have to blame for this, is that tiny tiny thing in us called a baby/fetus, that causes us to have massive hormones... In other words PREGNANCY!!!

E.R adventure!

My baby and I are b'h both fine, but we did take a trip to emergency room last night. I mentioned how I have been experiencing bad back pain, but since thursday my back has been really bothering me (more so then usual) On Friday my doctor wanted me to come get checked out, but the office is a 25 min drive and it was getting to close to Shabbas. I was nervous to head over there and be stuck! So they told me if thing progressed or if I experience any other warning signs then to go right away. I didn't feel like it was 100% necessary, and I wasn't experiencing any other warning signs. So I stayed put and I just popped some Tylenol over the weekend. So when I followed up with them yesterday, and explained to them what I was feeling, (back pain and fever like symptoms) they wanted me to get checked out right away, so this time I went. I really didn't want to go, I felt kind of silly going because my back hurt and I hate the emergency room, but I couldn't not go that would just be Irresponsible of me. When a doctor tell you to go you go! (Even if you think its nothing)
You would think I was one of those who had my doctor on speed dial, but Im actually pretty good and only called once before this, but not because I have nothing to ask, I just call my mom or one of my sisters. But if they weren't as helpful as they are, believe me I would call almost everyday, it's what they are there for. So don't be embarrassed or hesitant to pick up and call. And make sure to mention every symptom, to you they might be nothing, but when you tell them to your doctor some of your symptoms can mean something to them when together with others! I didn't think my fever like symptoms where anything, I thought it was because of the weather, but when I mentioned it to my doctor, that's when she started raising some concerns. So don't feel like when you call your doctors office your being a nuisance when your listing off your symptoms, It's important they get all necessary information.
At the hospital they hooked me up to monitors right away to check if my baby was ok. Next they check if I was dilating to make sure my back pain wasn't labor... b'h everything was good down there. Then they wanted to make sure I didn't devolve any infections, and if my kidneys were ok, so they took a urine test.
A nurse came in (not the one I had all night)  and mentioned how the babies oxygen levels were dropping and they needed me to switch the position I was laying. So of course I started to panic, but waited to talk to the nurse who was intending me all night. The nurse apologize that the other nurse has raised concerned, she said sometimes the monitor can pick up my heart rate instead of the babies which is a lot slower, and can look quite scary on the monitor.
Thank god everything is fine and all it was is normal back pain pregnant women can experience! But it is better safe then sorry, and it I think I did the right thing by just going to make sure that my back pain was just, back pain. As much as I'm ready to have my baby and I am so thankful it is still safe and sound in me!! :)
What a night! Stay safe!!

An interview with a mom!

I wanted to reach out to more of my readers and to try and make more post relate to all the moms out there. But since I am not a mom yet, I am not the one to give advise. So I have deiced to start interviews, I will be interviewing a mom every so often, to make it more ratable to everyone. Today's interview is from Mimi a mom of two adorable kids, Daniel who's 4, and her 9 month baby girl Shira.
CH: Pregnancy has alot of exciting moments, what was thee most memorable moment in your pregnancy?
MS: I was pregnant with my second child and woke up in the middle of the night and felt my baby move for the first time. And I heard my son who was 3 at the time, laughing in his sleep in the next room!
CH: That's so cute! does he always laugh in his sleep?
MS: Never!!

CH: Not all pregnancies are the same, What was the biggest difference between your two pregnancy?
MS: My weight in my first and my knowledge with my second.

CH: After your second pregnancy, if you could have done something different in your first what would it have been?
MS: I would not have watched so much TV and eaten so many tubs of ice cream!
CH: I can relate to that! Was there something useful that you found out about in your second pregnancy that you wish you could have done/known in your first?
MS: That just because you are pregnant, it does not mean you are handicapped. your allowed to excessive, run around and do errands. And your allowed to get yourself a drink without having someone else get it for you. People tend to treat pregnant women as if they cant do anything for themselves anymore, and it rubs off but you need to remember you are capable, to a certain extent, in moderation and do what you can handle.
CH: Very well said! The transition into motherhood can be a very hard time, how was it for you?
MS: Hard, hard and really really hard! But with time it was all worth it!

CH: With all the changes, what was the hardest thing to get use to?
MS: That you will never be number 1 again. Its always the kids, your husband and then you.
CH: Wow that is something to think about! Being a mother of two kids, what are some day to day challenges that you'd think are common?
MS: Juggling it all, I always tell everyone having one kid is playing house, having two kids the game is over! You are officially a mom!

CH: Do you have any useful tips on how you manage to juggle it all?
MS: I try to remember that I do not have to be supermom, its OK to buy takeout and for the house to not be spotless at all times. As long as the kids are dressed, feed and alive at the end of the day, you did your job and you deserve credit for that.
CH: What about if your dressed and feed, does that count for something?
MS: Your lucky if that gets done, so you definitely deserve credit!

CH: What does motherhood mean to you?
MS: EVERYTHING! and an endless love that i never thought even existed.

CH: Kids have a mind of there own, is there something funny you can think of your son told you?
MS: My Daniel who is 4 asked me the other day, if god has a computer in the sky that he keeps in his study.
CH: That's adorable! Motherhood as many amazing moments whats your pride moment?
MS: When my son protects me from the fears he knows I have, like fish and insects. I know i did the right thing by showing him its OK to be scared and it is OK to rely and lean on people when in need.
CH: AW that's amazing! can you give an example on he he would protect you
MS: He is my professional insect killer since I have a major phobia, he would say "Mommy don't come here, ill kill it so your not scared." If he smells fish he would say "Mommy don't come here you will be sad, because you don't like it." Even if i would to say I am scared he would tell me "Mommy don't worry ill save you."
CH: Your son sounds like a great kid!
MS: He is, he is so yummy and loving he has the boggiest heart!

CH: Any helpful tips you have for mothers other moms?
MS: Try to enjoy your kids and to listen to what they want and need from you, and shower them with love and hugs and kisses!

CH: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the worst) how would you rate your pregnancies?
MS: My first an 8, my second a 4, it was really good compared to my first.
CH: Was the second easier because you knew what to expect?
MS: Yes. It was probably a mixture of knowing and just feeling more comfortable with the whole title of being pregnant.

CH: We all have that someone we go to for advise, who did you go to?
MS: My older sister Leah and my friend Rochel.
CH: What was the best advise they have given you?
MS: My sister Leah is my inspiration! She told me, your kids feel and know when you are sad, happy, angry and annoyed, so always try to keep cool and stay as positive as possible, since you never know how it will affect them.
CH: Wise words!

CH: I have one more question for you. Do you think my blog can help moms and moms to be?
MS: Of course! It is just nice to know that others people are out there going through the same emotions and difficulties as you are, on a day to day basis. I hope your blog reaches all moms and moms to be. And inspire them all to be as strong, healthy and gorgeous like you are xoxo

Thank you Mimi for your time and thoughts.
I hope that you moms out there benefited and are able to relate!

Truth about your pregnancy glory!

Many women look forward to finding out what their pregnancy will be like, I know I tried imagining it so many times. Even at a young age, we would put pillow or a ball in our shirt and say "this is what I will look like when I'm pregnant". But pregnancy is not anything you can imagine until you've gone or your going through it. I have imagine my big round belly, my pregnancy glow, even my pregnancy swag also known as your waddle. I imagined it would be a beautiful time. And was looking forward to that bond between just you and your baby, that everyone talks about. All this is true, it is beautiful and an amazing time and I wouldn't change it for the world. But I want to put a different prospective on it all, the one where most pregnant women feel at some point of there pregnancy.

We've all heard the term pregnancy glow, and we all dream of having it. But when someone tells me I have a glow this is more what I'm thinking.
I hope they mean that glow and not my face is oil again, because my hormones are making me extra greasy.
oh gosh my skin was so dry this morning, did I put on to much cream?
Can they tell I just huffed and puffed up the stairs, am I sweating or something?

When I was in my first trimester and people told me not to worry it will get better in your second, I sometimes wanted to slap them! (hormones much?) My thoughts that ran through my mind were, you think I care about what it will be like in 6 weeks from now? All I want is it for it to be better now!
Is that what you told yourself, and did that help you get through your first trimester?
As soon as my second trimester hit, my expectation were so high, that I was so disappointed. My morning sickness did not get better, I did not get that boost of energy I did not get less tired. If anything it was worst or harder from the expectations I had that your second trimester is easier. (It finally got better at 41/2 months)

The guess what I'm having game that everyone loves to play seem strange, boy or girl? There's really not that many options, I'm not going to deny that I play it as well. But unless my baby is being some kind of alien, when I give birth someone outs there's ganna say I TOLD YOU SO! So everyone can guess all they want, change your mind ten times if you'd like, but I won't change the odds of it being one or the other!
Who loves that feeling when your baby's moves around? I know I do! But how about feeling it for the first time? For me it was freaky.... There a baby/human an alive thing moving inside of me that I can feel! FREAKY!
I do love the feeling and I even eat green apples (it has a lot of sugar) when I want to feel it get really hyper. But no one enjoys when it starts hitting you in ribs or kicked you in the bladder, or my personal favorite, my spin!
You can't forget about, that satisfied feeling when you finally are able to sit up in bed after trying three different ways.
How about that satisfying feeling when you finally made it to the bathroom to pee for the 5th time in the hour?.... Oh wait there is no satisfying feeling!
You drop something on the floor and try to reach it but something/someone's in your way!
Can you tie/zip your shoe or boots? Iv actually been thankful, I found some flexible gymnastic style way of reaching me shoes.
When people ask "does your husband love feeling the baby move"? I replay nicely saying yes, when in reality it took days for him to get it the first time, and well be lucky to do it again. Every time he tried the baby stopped, we always try but it's not as easy as it seems, I think we have to wait till it's gets bigger, to really feel it move.
I kept this one for last who loves the saying "Your bump is adorable, you didn't get fat at all, you look so cute"? Let's break down the sentence
A: My bump is adorable ... I tried so hard hiding it and took hours to find an outfit that wouldn't make it so noticeable, thanx for noticing it.
B: I didn't get fat... Really because the scale says so and I clearly have a belly and I feel huge so... Thanx?
C: Cute ... I look cute? I just spent hours trying to do my hair and make up to be pretty, but I look cute?

Yes pregnancy is a beautiful time, but not always is it so beautiful. And it's ok to feel that way, our body goes through crazy changes and some of us experience some interesting symptoms. Instead of hiding behind your so called 'glory of pregnancy' embrace your not such glorious moment by telling it as a funny story everyone has these moments!

P.s how's your memory?

Product review!

Sitting eating lunch I suddenly heard a big bang on my glass sliding door, I thought It was my husband as it's sometimes his way of telling me he's home. But the sound of the keys fidgeting at the lock never came. I started getting a little nervous, so I peeked through all my windows but didn't see anyone there. I called my husband in a little bit of a panic asking if it was him, he had no idea what I was talking about so he stayed on the phone as I checked around. I checked the porch door and found a bunch a little feathers stuck to the glass. Laughing to my husband how a bird have flown into the window!  I suddenly noticed this poor little bird laying there on the ground! I thought it was dead, But as I moved the leaves the bird and I both jump up, but it wasn't flying away. That's when my maternal instincts started  to kick in, I felt so helpless how am I supposed to help a bird? So i made a few phone calls and they helped me out. They told me the birds was just in shock and it should fly away when it feels ready! And that's exactly what it did! :)

The product I want to talk to you about is a maternity belly support belt. I have very bad back pain due to the way I'm carrying, and I have been trying everything to ease the pain. At the big city moms shower, there was this support belt that I tried on, and fell in love right away. I didn't want to take it off, so I bought it. I'm not usually a big believer on thing like this, but this really works wonders! I find that it makes me stand straighter, and back pain during pregnancy has a lot to do with posture. Another reason why it helps for me is because when ever my back hurts it almost feels like I need to push it back Inwards so the belt provides that by its tightness. The belt I bought is a fit splint, it's great, it's thin so you can wear it under clothing and it's not so noticeable. For those of you with back pain I say to invest in one, it works better then my body pillow (which I love as well.)

Other tips for back pain!
Ask a friends, husband or anyone available to massage/rub your back.

Alternate between hot pads and ice packs every 15 minutes.

Do the basic stretching and exercise found in the book 'Wat to expect when your expecting'!

Bend down and lift thing with your feet NOT YOUR BACK (I need to work on this)!

Last but not least:
Take it easy, Shabbas is coming!
